Dear Valued & Loved Funny Times Subscribers,

It has come to our attention that several subscribers have received what appear to be renewal solicitations from a company called Magazine Payment Services in Reno, Nevada, asking them to renew or extend their subscription to Funny Times for an installment payment of $29.98. DON’T DO IT! This is not a legitimate offer. We are not affiliated with this firm in any way, nor do we have a relationship with them!

Any and all mailings pertaining to Funny Times are created, printed and mailed directly from us in the Greater Cleveland area of Ohio. We do not enlist the services of agencies or third parties. As most of you are aware, we have our own unique appeal even in our renewal efforts, which in this case made the boring, tasteless, fraudulent offer pretty easy to spot. Anything you get from us — from the monthly issues to the confirmation of gift subscriptions you’ve recently sent — will have the Funny Times logo on it, and, odds are, a humorous headline, a funny cartoon, and possibly even a smear of hot sauce. Do not be fooled by impostors!

We spent a lot of time and energy talking with other publishers and poking around on the internet to learn more about this MPS, and found that this company and others like them are a pervasive problem for many publishers, both large and small. Our advice: Do not share further personal or credit card information with this company or any others with similar offers; do not send them checks or money orders. They are not affiliated in any way with Funny Times and we cannot be of assistance in helping you obtain a refund from them.

If you receive a fraudulent or suspect subscription notice in the mail, please call us directly at 1.888.386.6984 (1.888.FUNNYTIMES) to verify your subscription’s status. Then please, report the incident to your local Postmaster so that they may conduct a proper investigation. Remember, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s not from Funny Times.

Here is an image of what the ‘renewal opportunity’ from MPS looks like. It may have their company name, or one of numerous other names on it, but the forms all look much the same. Again, this company has no connection to Funny Times and has no authority to solicit you on our behalf. You may reach us directly at 1.888.FUNNYTIMES (I.888.386.6984) or info@funnytimes.com with any questions, or to verify your subscription’s status. Thank you for being a Funny Times subscriber.
Fraud Notice

Sincerely Yours,
